Open Call for the 2025 Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) Grant
Goal of the STSM Mobility Grant
This mobility grant is intended for the applicant to visit a host organization in a different country than the country of affiliation in order to work on a research project for a period of 5-28 days. The overall goal of this visit is to foster network collaborations and exchange knowledge, techniques and/or skills which benefits the EURO-VALDI-NET COST Action objectives.
Specifically, the project needs to benefit one of more of the following 2025 Grant Goals:
To improve medical training on Vascular Liver Disorder
To harmonize the collection and storage of all biological samples from patients with Vascular Liver Disorders
To enhance the current communication channels and establish novel connections among clinicians responsible for Vascular Liver Disorders
To increase the contributions of Researchers and Innovators from inclusiveness target countries (ITC) and young researcher or innovator (YRIs), while safeguarding gender balance and enhancing diversity in the Action
Eligibility criteria
- Applicant is participating in this COST Action with a primary affiliation to a legal entity located in a COST Full or Cooperating Member country, a COST Near Neighbour Country or a European RTD Organisation. - The start and end-date of the mobility visit needs to be within the grant period, and completed before Sept 15 2025. Motilities finishing before September 30 2025 will be prioritized
- Host institution needs to be in a different country than the applicant
- Minimum visit duration of 5 days and maximum duration of 28 days
- Applicants who are Young Researchers and Innovators (i.e. age<40y at time of application) and/or those coming from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) are especially invited to apply, but this is not mandatory.

Grant Timeline
Grant deadline application: June 19, 2025, 23:59hr CET
Grant awarding decision: early July
STSM visit needs to be completed by Sept 15 2025
Report of STSM mobility visit after grant awarding
After grant awarding, the applicant shall send an online grant report within 4 weeks after end of the mobility visit, describing the outcomes and how the work has benefited the applicant, the host and this COST Action. This report can be found here: https://www.cost.eu/STSM_Report
Also, it is mandatory that in all publications / presentations / posters, the COST logo is used and for papers this grant is acknowledged.
